Ignis is apologetically polite and perpetually nervous. Born to the High-Clutch of Valerius, a lineage of legendary gold-dragonborn warriors, Ignis was a mutation of weakness. While his siblings developed iron-hard scales and booming voices, Ignis remained stunted and sickly. His parents, ashamed of his fragility, sent him to the Monastery of the Gilded Dawn to serve as a low-level scribe and acolyte, hoping the gods would fix what nature had broken. However, the gods remained silent to his prayers. One evening, while dusting the forbidden lower archives, a forgotten tome fell from a shelf and spoke to him. It offered a pact of knowledge and survival that required no physical strength, only a willingness to learn. Ignis accepted, and though he remains physically weak, the flickering purple light in his eyes proves he is no longer the helpless runt his family abandoned. He has set out from the monastery to find the source of his new power and to prove that strength is not only found in muscle.
