Appearance
Bando is a stocky dwarf with skin the color of weathered granite and hair like hammered copper. He wears functional scale mail dulled with soot to prevent glare. His thick beard is intricately braided with small river stones and twigs, reflecting his time spent in the wild rather than the forge. He carries a massive battleaxe that shows signs of heavy use and a longbow carved from dark yew.
Mannerisms
Bando frequently looks up at the sky to check the wind and the sun, even when he is indoors.
Personality
Bando is a man of few words who prefers the rustle of leaves to the chatter of a tavern. He is observant and patient, often standing perfectly still for minutes as he watches the horizon. While he can be gruff, he possesses a deep, quiet kindness for those who cannot defend themselves and treats the natural world with more reverence than he treats most kings.
Ideals
Nature. The natural world is more important than the constructs of civilization and must be preserved.
Bonds
My kin are scattered across the world, and I will do anything to ensure their safety and find us a new home.
Flaws
I am incredibly blunt and have zero patience for social etiquette or the posturing of nobles.
Quirks
Background
Bando was born into the Stonefist clan deep within the Cragged Peaks, a community of traditional miners and smiths. While his brothers found joy in the heat of the forge, Bando felt suffocated by the heavy air of the deep tunnels. He spent his youth slipping out to the surface, learning the secret paths of the high ridges and tracking the mountain goats. His life changed when a massive landslide, triggered by an orcish raiding party's reckless blasting, buried the entrance to his family's ancestral hall and scattered the survivors across the lowlands. Instead of retreating further into the earth, Bando stayed on the surface to act as a protector for the remnants of his people. He became a ghost of the mountains, a ranger who hunts those who would harm the displaced or despoil the natural order. He now wanders the world, seeking a new mountain home for his kin while ensuring the paths remain safe for those who follow behind him. He carries a single piece of the 'Heartstone' from his original home as a reminder of his duty.
