Appearance
Gorak is an orc man standing just over six feet tall, built from solid muscle and bone. His muted, earthy green skin is marked by old scars from battles and narrow escapes. He has a broad face, square jaw, prominent upper tusks, and deep amber eyes beneath a heavy brow. His hair is cropped close in a military buzz cut, revealing faint silver lines where old injuries healed. A jagged scar crosses his nose, and another runs along his collarbone. In the modern Stalker training facility, he wears a matte black tactical vest over a fitted long-sleeved shirt, reinforced dark cargo pants, black tactical gloves, and heavy combat boots. His vest carries ammunition, rations, medical supplies, tools, and field equipment. A suppressed SMG is slung across his back, with a suppressed pistol at his hip and a combat knife at his thigh.
Mannerisms
Gorak keeps his back straight and his head slightly angled toward nearby sounds. He checks exits whenever he enters a room, cleans his weapons immediately after combat, and speaks in short, measured sentences. When angry, he becomes quieter rather than louder. Before a dangerous operation, he taps two fingers against the scar on his collarbone and silently counts the team's members.
Personality
Gorak is blunt, direct, and grounded in physical reality. He speaks little, preferring action to speeches, but his resonant voice carries authority when he does speak. He respects competence above charm, dislikes performative cruelty and empty boasting, and is slow to trust. Once someone earns his loyalty, however, he becomes immovable. He has no fear of death, but he respects its permanence and refuses to waste a life without purpose.
Ideals
Purpose. Strength means nothing if it is not used to protect someone. Gorak believes survival is a responsibility, not a privilege, and that the capable must stand between danger and those who cannot face it alone.
Bonds
The Stalker unit is the only family Gorak has left. He will risk his life without hesitation to recover a fallen teammate or prevent the group from being used as expendable assets. He also carries the memory of the Iron Fist soldiers he failed to bring home.
Flaws
Gorak assumes every promise has a hidden cost and every moment of peace is an ambush waiting to happen. He can become controlling when others ignore his tactical judgment, and he would rather endure pain in silence than admit he needs help. Nyx's capture still haunts him, especially when psionic disturbances trigger memories he cannot fully separate from reality.
Quirks
Background
Gorak was raised among an orc warband that valued endurance above elegance and action above promises. He learned to track prey across broken ground, read the silence before an ambush, and survive with whatever the land offered. His strength made him a natural front-line fighter, but his sharp instincts and patient awareness made him more valuable as a scout. By adulthood, he had become a soldier trusted to move ahead of the main force, identify threats, and return with enough information to keep others alive. He later joined the Iron Fist mercenary group, where his reputation grew through relentless efficiency and an unwillingness to abandon wounded comrades. Gorak served as a breacher, scout, and field commander, eventually becoming the soldier others followed when plans failed and the battlefield turned chaotic. His capture by Nyx changed him. The experience fractured his sense of self and left him with a heightened sensitivity to psionic disturbances, sudden changes in emotion, and danger that has not yet fully arrived. After joining the Stalker unit, Gorak found a new purpose in protecting the team. He does not fight for glory or conquest. He fights because someone must notice the threat first, endure the worst of it, and make sure the others get home.
