Appearance
Temperence has a wiry, slender frame and sharp features that give her a hungry, hawk-like look. Her dark hair is chopped unevenly at the shoulders and usually hidden under a frayed grey hood. She has soot-smudged cheeks and bright amber eyes that dart constantly between potential exits. Her clothes are a patchwork of found fabrics over dark, practical leather.
Mannerisms
She tilts her head to the side when listening and avoids direct eye contact, preferring to watch a person's hands.
Personality
Wary and watchful, Temperence is a woman of few words. She prefers to observe from the shadows rather than lead from the front. She is deeply cynical about anyone who claims to have good intentions, but she possesses a quiet, stubborn loyalty to those she considers family.
Ideals
Freedom. No person should be bound by chains or the restrictive laws of the rich. We take what we need to survive.
Bonds
I carry a small silver bell from my past. It is the only connection I have to my origin, and I would risk my life to recover it if it were stolen.
Flaws
I am deeply suspicious of everyone I meet. I find it nearly impossible to believe that anyone would help me without expecting something in return.
Quirks
Background
Temperence never knew her biological family, only the cold cobblestones and damp fog of the city slums. She earned her name from a local baker who joked that her silence was a sign of great temperance, though in truth she was simply too focused on survival to waste breath on idle chatter. She learned the geography of the sewers and the rhythm of the city guard before she could even read, treating every lock as a puzzle and every shadow as a sanctuary. Silence became her primary weapon, and the city herself became her tutor. As she transitioned from a street urchin to a competent thief, she realized that the high walls of the nobility were not just barriers, but targets. She views the world as a game of survival where the rules are written by those in power and broken by those who are clever enough to survive. Now she seeks a life beyond the gutters, driven by the hope that gold might finally buy the security she never had.
“Silence became her primary weapon, and the city herself became her tutor.”
