Appearance
Miran is a lean, broad-shouldered male tabaxi with tawny fur marked by dark brown stripes along his arms, back, and tail. His green-gold eyes are steady and observant, and one ear bears a small brass ring. He wears plain brown monk's robes wrapped for travel, soft footcloths, and a weathered blue sash holding his darts. His hands are callused from years of stonework, gardening, and martial practice.
Mannerisms
Miran sits with his back to a wall, keeps his hands folded inside his sleeves, and pauses for one full breath before answering difficult questions. When irritated, his tail lashes once against the ground, then goes perfectly still.
Personality
Quiet, practical, and observant, Miran notices small details that others overlook. He is kind without being sentimental, prefers useful work to ceremony, and has a dry sense of humor that appears most often when danger is near. He enjoys unfamiliar roads, strange food, and listening to people explain customs he has never encountered.
Ideals
Service. Discipline has value only when it protects someone weaker than yourself.
Bonds
The ruined hillside shrine is my home, and I will restore it or die trying. I also owe Brother Hadi a debt that cannot be repaid with coin.
Flaws
I mistake patience for moral certainty, and when I believe someone is harming the helpless, I can become harsh, inflexible, and difficult to reason with.
Quirks
Background
Miran was born in a caravan that traveled between hill villages and old trade roads, where his family worked as guides, peddlers, and occasional protectors. As a young tabaxi, he was quick with his paws and quicker to wander, until a winter crossing ended with him injured and separated from the caravan. An elderly monk named Brother Hadi found him near death and carried him to a remote hillside shrine. Miran stayed, first out of necessity, then out of gratitude, and finally because the shrine's quiet discipline gave shape to the restless curiosity he had always mistaken for freedom. For nearly seven years, Miran lived as a hermit, tending medicinal plants, copying old prayers, and practicing the open-hand forms taught by Brother Hadi. His discovery came during a long fast, when he realized that discipline was not meant to cage desire, but to keep desire from becoming another master. When raiders burned the shrine and Brother Hadi disappeared among the ruins, Miran left the mountain to find him and protect the scattered villagers who had once depended on the shrine's medicines. He now travels with a monk's restraint and a tabaxi's enduring curiosity, seeking the truth of what happened while helping people who cannot defend themselves.
