To keep the character rules-accurate with the provided scores, no ability score increase has been applied and the level 4 ASI is noted as unspent in flavor only.

Appearance
A sturdy hill dwarf woman with braided auburn hair threaded through with dried herbs, bright gray eyes, and a weather-beaten face dusted with trail grime. She wears practical leather armor, a wood-bound druidic focus at her belt, and carries a shield painted with mossy knotwork. Her beard is short and carefully oiled, but it is usually full of leaves, soot, or animal fur by day's end.
Mannerisms
She speaks as if every sentence is a citation, often tapping two fingers against her temple before recalling a fact. When thinking, she rubs soot or soil between her thumb and forefinger. She is surprisingly gentle with plants, but impatient with pomp and empty ceremony.
Personality
Inquisitive, dry-witted, and stubbornly independent, Vistra treats every ruin, grove, and glacier as a library with secrets still waiting to be read. She is polite to those who earn it, but she bristles at dogma and enjoys proving that the world is broader than any one tradition.
Ideals
Knowledge is not meant to sit locked in stone or parchment. It must be tested, questioned, and carried into the wild where it can still surprise us.
Bonds
She carries a volume of copied field notes from her first mentor, and she will risk nearly anything to preserve those pages and finish the work that was begun.
Flaws
She cannot resist pursuing a new mystery, even when caution or common sense would clearly be wiser. When insulted, she answers with sharp wit and may escalate a small slight into a grander feud just to prove a point. She also trusts strange signs, omens, and half-remembered lore more than she trusts most authorities.
Quirks
Background
Vistra was born in a dwarf hold that prized stonework, ledgers, and sealed archives as much as axes and ale. She was expected to become a keeper of records, and for years she was content to catalog clan histories, star charts, and the old names of mountain passes. Then she found a cracked tablet hidden behind a false wall in the archive, inscribed with warnings about a living wood that had once swallowed an entire road. The more she read, the more the mountains seemed less like walls and more like a shell around a far older world. Curiosity turned to obsession, and obsession to pilgrimage.
“The more she read, the more the mountains seemed less like walls and more like a shell around a far older world.”
