Appearance
A tall, broad-shouldered wood elf with unruly copper hair, sharp green eyes, and a mischievous smile. His ears are decorated with mismatched silver hoops, and he wears a well-loved leather cuirass beneath a flamboyant crimson-and-teal entertainer's coat. His rapier is decorated with ribbons, while his lute bears the faded crest of his former village.
Mannerisms
Caelan bows as though every conversation is the finale of a stage performance. He punctuates serious statements with theatrical flourishes, winks at inconvenient moments, and absentmindedly plucks his lute strings when nervous.
Personality
Caelan is irreverent, enthusiastic, and dangerously charming. He treats strangers as friends in progress, enemies as audiences who have not yet been won over, and every dangerous situation as an opportunity for a memorable story. Beneath his provocative humor, he is perceptive and surprisingly compassionate toward lonely people and social outcasts.

Caelan Thistledown was born beneath the silver boughs of an insular elven village, where restraint was considered a virtue and every family guarded its reputation like a sacred heirloom. Caelan considered reputation something to be improved through experimentation. He learned music from the village’s old minstrels, acrobatics from traveling performers, and seduction from anyone willing to teach him. His performances became legendary, though not always for their artistry. Caelan flirted freely with villagers, merchants, wandering adventurers, and, on one especially disastrous evening, the village princess herself. His advances were theatrical, sincere, and spectacularly unwelcome to the elders. Exile followed before sunrise, accompanied by a broken lute string and a stern warning never to return.
