Appearance
Aurelia is a tall, poised drow elf with obsidian skin, waist-length silver-white hair, and luminous violet eyes. Her face is elegant and severe, framed by a high black collar embroidered with the spider sigil of House Malice. She wears blackened chain mail beneath dark priestly vestments, carries a longsword and shield marked with the house emblem, and keeps a silver holy symbol hidden beneath her armor. Every movement is deliberate, controlled, and quietly threatening.
Mannerisms
Aurelia speaks softly and precisely, rarely repeating herself. She addresses strangers by title rather than name, maintains unwavering eye contact during conversations, and gently taps one finger against her shield whenever she hears an answer she considers dishonest.
Personality
Aurelia is composed, observant, and impeccably courteous, even when delivering threats. She enjoys placing people in moral dilemmas and watching which principle they abandon first. She believes compassion is useful only when it reinforces authority, though she secretly admires individuals who possess the courage to resist her.
Ideals
Order is the only barrier between civilization and chaos. Those who understand their place deserve protection, while those who reject the hierarchy must be corrected or destroyed.
Bonds
House Malice gave Aurelia purpose, rank, and identity, and she will protect its secrets even when doing so requires murder. She also carries a private grudge against the priestess who once dismissed her as a disposable tool. Aurelia intends to rise high enough that no one will ever again be able to command her without consequence.
Flaws
Aurelia cannot tolerate defiance, especially when it is delivered by someone she considers socially inferior. She confuses fear with respect and obedience with virtue. Her loyalty to House Malice is so absolute that she will rationalize cruelty, betrayal, and even personal sacrifice as necessary acts of service.
Quirks
Background
Aurelia Malice was raised beneath the shadowed towers of a powerful drow house, where devotion and obedience were indistinguishable from survival. From childhood, she was taught that the gods rewarded order, hierarchy, and ruthless discipline. Her talent for interrogation became evident when she could extract confessions from servants, rivals, and captured adventurers without raising her voice. The priesthood recognized that her presence inspired fear more effectively than many sermons, and she was inducted into the temple as an acolyte and inquisitor of House Malice.
