Appearance
Seshazi is a bronze-scaled dragonborn with a long, narrow muzzle, swept-back horns, and tarnished copper scales along the shoulders and forearms. Her scales are dulled by years of dust, incense smoke, and outdoor labor rather than polished for display. A pale line of old cracking runs across one knuckle where repeated work with stone prayer tablets split the scales, but her most noticeable feature is her voice. Before speaking, she takes a slow, audible breath through her teeth, producing a soft sibilant hiss. She wears weathered leather armor beneath a reed-woven mantle, carries a quarterstaff wrapped with prayer-cords, and keeps small leaves, seed husks, and scraps of parchment tucked into every belt fold.
Mannerisms
Before speaking, she draws a slow breath through her teeth and lets it out as a faint hiss. She touches her prayer disk whenever someone gives a name, counts steps beneath her breath when crossing bridges, and pauses to inspect damaged plants even during urgent conversations.
Personality
Quietly observant and difficult to rattle, Seshazi listens with her whole body, angling her head and narrowing her golden eyes before answering. She is gentle with frightened creatures and grieving people, but blunt with anyone who treats sacred places as property. Her humor is dry, understated, and usually arrives several seconds after everyone else has stopped talking.
Ideals
Renewal. Nothing living is meant to remain unchanged. Faith that cannot adapt to protect the vulnerable is only a monument to itself.
Bonds
The river shrine that raised me is drying from an unseen wound in the watershed. I will find the cause and restore the land, even if the priests who taught me would rather preserve the shrine's reputation than admit it is endangered. I also carry the names of every child buried beneath its eastern stones.
Flaws
I mistake endurance for virtue and keep working long after my body, allies, or judgment have begun to fail. When religious authorities dismiss a problem as inconvenient, I become coldly stubborn and may treat compromise as betrayal.
Quirks
Background
Seshazi was raised among a small dragonborn congregation that maintained a shrine beside a seasonal river. The shrine honored the patient powers of rain, soil, and returning life, and its priests taught that worship was not merely spoken indoors. It was found in cleaning water channels, tending medicinal plants, recording the names of the dead, and knowing when a frightened animal needed silence rather than a blessing. Seshazi became an acolyte because she was unusually attentive to such things. She could tell which prayer herbs had been harvested too early, which mourners were hiding anger beneath ritual words, and which patches of ground had begun to fail beneath the surface.
