Appearance
Vance stands with a soldier's discipline but wears the grime of the wild. His brown hair is kept short and functional, and his green eyes possess a piercing intensity. He wears dark, reinforced leather armor over a faded green uniform that still bears the faint markings of a border scout. A large longbow is always within arm's reach, slung over a shoulder corded with muscle.
Mannerisms
He tends to scan the rooftops and treelines even when in the safest of taverns. He speaks in short, clipped sentences as if every word might be his last.
Personality
He is a man of few words and decisive actions. Vance is fiercely protective of his companions and has little patience for bureaucratic nonsense or noble posturing. He finds more peace in the quiet rustle of leaves than in the bustle of a city, yet he remains deeply connected to the plight of common people caught in the crossfire of war.
Ideals
Independence. No leader has the right to command another to commit an evil act. People must be free to choose their own paths.
Bonds
I still carry the dog tags of my fallen squad mates, and I will find a way to honor their memories by making the border safe once more.
Flaws
I am incredibly slow to trust anyone in a position of authority, which often leads to conflict with local law enforcement.
Quirks
Background
Born into a family of hunters on the edge of the kingdom, Vance eventually joined the border scouts to protect his village. He served with distinction for years, until he discovered that his commanding officer was selling supplies meant for starving refugees. Vance confronted the officer, was branded a traitor, and forced to flee into the untamed wilderness. He lived as a hermit and a ghost, refining his skills as a predator of predators. Now, he uses his knowledge of both military strategy and forest survival to hunt those who exploit the weak. He refuses to take orders from anyone he doesn't respect, but he will bleed for a cause he believes in. His life is a constant march through the shadows, always watching for the next threat.
