- Mage Hand
When When remote manipulation is useful
You conjure a spectral, disembodied hand at a point within 30 feet. It can manipulate objects, open unlocked doors, retrieve or stow items, and pour out contents. It cannot attack, activate magic items, or carry more than 10 pounds.
- Hex
When As a bonus action when you can see a creature within 90 feet
You place a curse on a creature you can see within 90 feet. Until the spell ends, you deal an extra 1d6 necrotic damage whenever you hit it with an attack, and you gain advantage on ability checks made to find it. The target also has disadvantage on ability checks using one ability of your choice. The spell lasts up to 1 hour with concentration.
- Dissonant Whispers
When When a nearby creature threatens you or an ally
A creature within 60 feet that can hear you must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, it takes 3d6 psychic damage and must immediately use its reaction, if available, to move as far as its speed allows away from you. On a success, it takes half damage and does not move.

Appearance
A pale tiefling with long, thick ginger curls, luminous purple eyes, and small swept-back horns polished to an ivory sheen. They favor tightly fitted crimson and ivory corsets beneath a black traveling coat, with gold rings, chain accents, and a delicate gold throat clasp. Their skin is cool and nearly translucent, making the faint blue veins at their wrists visible. Within a minute of meeting them, people notice their unusual breathing, shallow and quiet when calm, then abruptly absent when frightened or furious. They stand with their weight balanced on the balls of their feet, as if perpetually poised to retreat or pounce. Their voice is low, velvety, and carefully measured, but rattles into a dry whisper when they lose control.
Mannerisms
Nali pauses before entering any room, listening for changes in breathing. They straighten their gold throat clasp when lying, lightly tap one finger against their wrist when hungry, and deliberately hold their breath during moments of danger. When rattled, their polished voice loses its warmth and comes out as a dry, breathless rasp.
Personality
I am unfailingly courteous, especially to people who underestimate me. I collect secrets the way other people collect jewelry, and I prefer to win arguments by making the other person believe the conclusion was their idea.
Ideals
Identity is a weapon. No ruler, priest, or patron has the right to decide which version of me is real.
Bonds
I will find the hospice ledger that contains my mother's true name and learn why she erased it.
Flaws
I cannot resist improving a lie, even when the truth would be safer. When frightened, I become theatrical and cruel, because I would rather be hated than seen as helpless.

Background
Nali was born beneath the red awnings of a mountain hospice, where their mother sold perfumes, forged letters, and discreetly altered the stories of people who needed to disappear. Their infernal blood made them a natural target for superstition, so Nali learned early that presentation was safer than honesty. Pale skin, ginger curls, purple eyes, ivory horns, and an appetite they refused to explain made them easy to cast as a monster. They responded by becoming several different people, each with a different name, wardrobe, and manner of breathing. The most convincing identity was a minor noble afflicted with a wasting curse. While performing that role, Nali encountered a sealed reliquary containing a black-red crystal that seemed to pulse like a heart. When they touched it, something vast and patient answered from the darkness between thoughts. The entity granted Nali a fragment of its power, and in return demanded that they carry its symbol into places where people gathered, lied, prayed, and dreamed. Nali now travels as a refined occultist and occasional confidence artist, using elegant manners to conceal the terrifying fact that the voice in their mind sometimes speaks with their own mouth.
“Their infernal blood made them a natural target for superstition, so Nali learned early that presentation was safer than honesty.”
