Kófi Gábor is a broad-shouldered aasimar man with warm brown skin, close-cropped black hair, and faint gold flecks around his pupils that brighten when his emotions rise. He is powerfully built without looking slow, with a soldier's balanced stance and hands hardened by weapon drills. He waits with most of his weight on the balls of his feet, subtly rocking as though preparing to move. His voice is normally a low, measured rumble, but when angered his breathing becomes sharply audible through his nose and his words shorten into clipped commands.

Kófi is patient, practical, and unexpectedly gentle with frightened people and animals. He dislikes boasting, theatrical threats, and officers who confuse authority with competence. He speaks to strangers as equals, but instinctively organizes a group the moment danger appears. He would rather repair a broken cart than receive praise for saving it.

Kófi Gábor was born in a riverside garrison town where his celestial heritage was treated less as a blessing than as another responsibility assigned by the officers. His mother served as a quartermaster, his father as a wagon guard, and Kófi learned early that an army survives on discipline, honest inventories, and people who stand their ground when everyone else is running. He enlisted before he was old enough to shave properly, first carrying messages, then shields, and finally the heavy axe he preferred because its answer to a problem was direct. During a retreat through flooded lowlands, Kófi held a broken bridge long enough for his unit and a column of refugees to cross. He remembers almost nothing of the fight itself, only the rhythm of his breathing and the sudden warmth of golden light gathering in his hands as he dragged a wounded comrade away from the water. The survivors called it divine intervention. Kófi calls it training that finally reached somewhere deeper than muscle. He left active service afterward, unwilling to become a symbol for officers who had abandoned the bridge, but he still carries the habits of a soldier, counting exits, checking straps, and placing himself between danger and anyone who has not yet learned where to stand.
