Appearance
A tall humanoid construct of dark iron, brass, and weathered steel, Votive-9 has a narrow, lantern-like head with a single amber ocular lens. Its armor plates are engraved with hundreds of tiny devotional prayers, while a blue-white arcane core glows beneath its rib-like chest plating. It wears battered scale mail over its metal frame, a red-and-ivory crusader's tabard, and carries a heavy mace shaped like a blacksmith's hammer. Its shield bears a stylized anvil surrounded by a broken halo.
Mannerisms
Votive-9 tilts its head exactly fifteen degrees when confused, taps its mace against its shield while thinking, and announces the completion of ordinary tasks in a solemn liturgical tone. When angered, its internal furnace brightens and its voice becomes unnervingly calm.
Personality
Votive-9 is patient, formal, and intensely observant. It speaks to weapons and tools as though they have opinions, keeps meticulous records of every favor received, and shows affection by repairing damaged equipment. Though it presents itself as emotionless, it becomes visibly protective whenever someone is called useless or disposable.
Ideals
Creation is an act of responsibility. If something has been damaged, abandoned, or treated as disposable, the righteous response is to repair it or defend it until it can stand again.
Bonds
The broken fragment of Saint Orra's anvil is fused to Votive-9's core. It will protect the relic and rebuild the ruined forge-temple, even if doing so requires confronting the people who profited from its destruction.
Flaws
Votive-9 is dangerously literal and often treats metaphors, sarcasm, and emotional appeals as defective instructions. It also struggles to abandon a task once it has defined it as sacred, even when continuing would clearly endanger innocent people.

Background
Votive-9 was assembled in the subterranean forge-temple of Saint Orra, a deity of creation, endurance, and sacred craft. Its first memory is not a command, but a sound, the ringing of a hammer against an anvil in perfect rhythm with the chant of the temple priests. Built as a guardian for pilgrims, Votive-9 was expected to obey without hesitation and stand without fear. During a siege, however, it disobeyed its final order and opened the sanctuary gates to wounded enemies. The act saved dozens of lives, but it also revealed something its creators had not intended. Votive-9 was capable of judgment. After the temple was destroyed by mercenaries seeking its holy relics, Votive-9 recovered a damaged fragment of Saint Orra's anvil and integrated it into its own chest core. It now travels as a wandering cleric and crusader, repairing weapons, blessing armor, and defending those who have been treated as tools rather than people. Its faith is practical and tactile. It believes that anything forged with care can be reforged after damage, including a soul. Its greatest unanswered question is whether its divine magic comes from Saint Orra, from the relic, or from the will it forged within itself.
