Appearance
A striking half-elf woman with warm olive skin, pointed ears, and long scarlet hair usually worn loose or tied with a sailor's cord. She has a full, voluptuous figure, expressive green-brown eyes, and a thin white scar running from the corner of her mouth toward her jaw. She dresses in a fitted leather cuirass over a low-cut cream blouse, dark sea-stained trousers, tall boots, and a red sash at her waist. Her lute is polished but visibly worn from years aboard ship.
Mannerisms
Mirei leans closer when she wants someone nervous, then retreats just before the moment becomes comfortable. She keeps one hand near her lute or dagger, whistles fragments of old sea shanties while thinking, and addresses strangers by affectionate nicknames until she learns their real names.
Personality
Mirei is warm, bold, and deliberately difficult to read. She has a talent for making people feel fascinating, desirable, and understood, even when she is quietly measuring every weakness in the room. Beneath the confidence is a practical survivor who notices exits, watches hands, and never lets a stranger stand between her and the sea. She is generous toward the desperate and merciless toward bullies.
Ideals
Freedom. No captain, noble, church, or lover owns another person. Mirei will risk herself to break chains, expose coercion, and give people the chance to choose their own course.
Bonds
The ship that first gave her a home, the Red Koi, was lost under suspicious circumstances. Mirei believes the wreck was arranged by a respectable merchant house, and she intends to uncover the truth. She also sends a portion of every reward to the families of the sailors who died with her crew.
Flaws
She enjoys control too much, especially when it comes through seduction, secrets, or emotional leverage. Mirei can mistake genuine affection for a game she is winning, and she hates admitting fear or dependence. When cornered, she sometimes promises more than she can safely deliver.
Quirks
Background
Mirei Sava was born in a harbor district where half-elves were common enough to be useful and unusual enough to be watched. Her human mother worked the docks, while her elven father vanished aboard a merchant vessel before Mirei was old enough to remember his face. She grew up learning that a good voice could open a locked door, calm a drunken sailor, or turn an angry harbormaster into an embarrassed admirer. By sixteen, she had signed on as a deckhand, and by twenty she was playing lute in the officers' cabin, trading songs, secrets, and flirtation for better food and safer berths.
