Appearance
Ayla is a medium-height aasimar woman with warm bronze skin, luminous amber eyes, and dark hair usually braided with white prayer cord and tiny brass bells. She wears a practical chain shirt beneath a travel-stained robe, a polished shield marked with a simple sunburst, and carries a calligrapher's kit at her belt. A faint celestial glow seems to gather in her hands when she is moved by compassion or anger.
Mannerisms
She speaks softly in temples and loudly in taverns, as if the sacred deserves respect and the powerful deserve challenge. When she is thinking, she unconsciously traces tiny circles in the air with one finger, as though illuminating invisible script.
Personality
Gentle, bright-eyed, and quietly stubborn, Ayla treats kindness as a discipline and disobedience as a tool when kindness is blocked. She is patient with the grieving, impatient with the cruel, and most comfortable when she has a prayer to recite, a wound to bind, or a bad plan to challenge.
Ideals
Mercy should be active, not ceremonial. She believes the divine is proven through protection, healing, and fearless kindness, especially toward those whom society has already decided are expendable.
Bonds
She still carries the prayer book of the temple that raised her, and she promises to use its teachings to protect the forgotten. She sends offerings, letters, and small repairs to the poorest shrines wherever she travels, especially those no one else bothers to mend.
Flaws
Ayla has a hard time leaving cruelty alone, even when intervention is unwise. She can be openly dismissive of pompous religious authorities, and once she decides a law is unjust, she may break it first and explain herself later.

Background
Ayla Zunair grew up in the shadow of a temple whose bells could be heard across the market district, a child with celestial blood and a mortal stubborn streak. The priests saw a sign in her radiant touch, and for years they tried to turn her into a perfect vessel of obedience. She learned the prayers, copied the manuscripts, and served at the altar with dutiful hands, but she never quite learned to accept every command as holy simply because it was spoken from behind incense smoke. When she saw the temple turn away the desperate for the sake of custom, she began slipping bread through side doors and healing the people the clergy called inconvenient. Her rebellion was not loud, it was merciful. She left with a prayer book, a holy symbol, and the conviction that divinity means little if it does not protect the helpless. Now she walks the roads as a cleric who can quote scripture as easily as she can swing a mace, forever balancing reverence with defiance. Ayla believes the gods are not fragile, and that real faith can survive a few broken rules if those rules stood in the way of kindness.
