Appearance
Rilco is a lithe, nimble Lightfoot Halfling with sun-darkened skin and choppy, dark brown hair. They wear a patched set of gray leathers and a heavy, hooded cloak that helps them blend into shadows. Their eyes are sharp and constantly darting around, looking for exits or opportunities. They carry various pouches and hidden pockets throughout their gear, always prepared for a quick getaway.
Mannerisms
Rilco has a habit of tapping their fingers against their thighs in a rhythmic pattern, and they rarely make direct eye contact for more than a second, usually looking over your shoulder to scan the room instead.
Personality
Quick-talking and incredibly restless, Rilco is someone who views the world as one giant mechanism to be disassembled. They are survival-focused but possess a dry, cynical wit that often comes out when they are nervous. They don't trust authority figures and prefer to keep interactions transactional until someone has truly earned their loyalty.
Ideals
Freedom. I will never be locked in a cage again, whether that cage is made of bars or social expectations.
Bonds
I carry a pet mouse named Nibbles who was my only friend during the coldest winters on the street.
Flaws
I am deathly afraid of tight, enclosed spaces where I cannot see an exit, a lingering trauma from being trapped during a job.
Quirks
Background
Rilco grew up in the undercity of a sprawling metropolis, abandoned by parents they only remember through a tarnished silver locket. They learned to survive by climbing rooftops and squeezing into places the City Watch couldn't follow. For years, Rilco served as a scout for a local gang of thieves, but they eventually grew tired of the gang's internal politics and dangerous risks. After a botched warehouse heist where their crew left them for dead, Rilco narrowly escaped through a chimney and decided they were better off alone. They have spent the last few months traveling between settlements, using their skills to stay fed and anonymous. They have no desire for the quiet life of their kin, finding the peace of the countryside far more terrifying than a dark, dangerous alleyway. To Rilco, every lock is a challenge and every law is a suggestion for those without the imagination to bypass it.
