Appearance
Aurelia is a statuesque drow woman with obsidian skin, waist-length white hair, and luminous violet eyes. Her beauty is severe and deliberate, enhanced by silver facial chains, spider-shaped jewelry, and immaculate black-and-crimson noble attire worn beneath reinforced leather armor. She carries a curved sabre at her hip, its hilt fashioned like a black widow, and bears a fine scar across one eyebrow from an investigation that ended in bloodshed.
Mannerisms
Aurelia maintains unnervingly perfect posture and smiles during interrogations. She slowly circles anyone she questions, adjusts her gloves before delivering a threat, and refers to obvious lies as 'poorly constructed confessions.'
Personality
Aurelia is composed, incisive, and captivating. She speaks with aristocratic courtesy even while threatening someone, notices small inconsistencies in speech and clothing, and treats combat as the final stage of a formal argument. She is genuinely devout, but her faith is tangled with pride and a need to prove that Lolth chose her above all others.
Ideals
Purity. False belief is a disease, and I will cut it out before it spreads, even if the patient is someone I love.
Bonds
House Malice is both Aurelia's inheritance and her target. She will protect its name from outsiders, but she secretly intends to expose the family member responsible for the omen of the severed spider.
Flaws
Aurelia cannot resist turning every disagreement into an investigation. She is vain about her beauty and breeding, distrustful of sincere kindness, and secretly terrified that her visions are not messages from Lolth but symptoms of her own ambition.
Quirks
Background
Aurelia Malice was born beneath the hanging gardens of House Malice, a first-born daughter whose birth was interpreted as a sign from Lolth. From childhood, she was taught that beauty was a weapon, etiquette was a form of interrogation, and mercy was merely heresy that had not yet been exposed. Priestesses declared her the house's chosen prophet after Aurelia correctly identified a traitor among the household tutors, not through divine revelation, but by noticing a single thread of surface-world silk caught in his sleeve. The revelation earned her a ceremonial sabre and a place among the house's inquisitors. Aurelia learned to hunt forbidden doctrines, secret alliances, and signs of weakness among rival nobles. Her investigations became infamous because she preferred a quiet question and a perfect smile before drawing steel. Yet her prophetic visions have begun to show a spider with one severed leg crawling toward the throne of House Malice. Unsure whether the omen warns of enemies, Lolth's displeasure, or her own family's corruption, Aurelia has left the Underdark to find the truth. She intends to return with proof, scapegoats, and enough leverage to claim whatever destiny the Spider Queen has prepared for her.
“The revelation earned her a ceremonial sabre and a place among the house's inquisitors.”
