- God-Touched Strike
When When you spend Divine Force to empower your next weapon hit...
As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Divine Force point to empower your next weapon hit this turn. On a hit, it deals an extra 1d6 damage and applies your Blood Dominion Gift. At level 1, you have no Divine Force points available unless another move or fictional circumstance provides them.
Always on
- Hack and Slash
When When you attack an enemy in melee...
When you attack an enemy in melee, roll+STR. On a 10+, deal your damage to the enemy and avoid their attack. At your option, you may choose to deal +1d6 damage but expose yourself to the enemy's attack. On a 7-9, deal your damage to the enemy and the enemy makes an attack against you.
- Volley
When When you take aim and shoot at an enemy at range...
When you take aim and shoot at an enemy at range, roll+DEX. On a 10+, you have a clear shot, deal your damage, and avoid danger. On a 7-9, choose one: move to get the shot, take what you can get, or deal damage but expose yourself to danger. On a 6-, mark XP as usual and the GM makes a move.
- Defy Danger
When When you act despite an imminent threat...
When you act despite an imminent threat or suffer a calamity, say how you deal with it and roll. On a 10+, you do what you set out to do and avoid the threat. On a 7-9, you stumble, hesitate, or flinch, and the GM will offer you a worse outcome, hard bargain, or ugly choice. On a 6-, mark XP as usual and the GM makes a move.
- Defend
When When you stand in defense of a person, item, or location under attack...
When you stand in defense of a person, item, or location under attack, roll+CON. On a 10+, hold 3. On a 7-9, hold 1. While defending, you may spend hold to redirect an attack from the defended target to yourself, halve the attack's effect or damage, or open up the attacker to an ally, giving that ally +1 forward against the attacker. On a 6-, mark XP as usual and the GM makes a move.
- Spout Lore
When When you consult your accumulated knowledge about something...
When you consult your accumulated knowledge about something, roll+INT. On a 10+, the GM will tell you something interesting and useful about the subject. On a 7-9, the GM will only tell you something interesting. On a 6-, mark XP as usual and the GM makes a move.
- Discern Realities
When When you closely study a person, situation, or location...
When you closely study a person, situation, or location, roll+WIS. On a 10+, ask the GM three questions from the list. On a 7-9, ask one. Take +1 forward when acting on the answers: What happened here recently? What is about to happen? What should I be on the lookout for? What here is not what it appears to be? What is the true position of an enemy or ally?
- Parley
When When you have leverage on a GM character and manipulate them...
When you have leverage on a GM character and manipulate them, roll+CHA. Leverage is something they need or want. On a 10+, they do what you ask if you first assure them that you will do what they ask. On a 7-9, they will do what you ask, but need some concrete assurance of your promise right now.
- Divine Physique
When Always active
You gain a d10 Hit Die, proficiency with all armor, shields, simple weapons, and martial weapons. You also gain proficiency in one skill from Athletics, Acrobatics, Intimidation, Medicine, Nature, or Perception. For this Dungeon World conversion, your supernatural resilience grants 9 hit points at level 1, calculated as 10 plus your Constitution modifier.
- Divine Dominion
When When you choose your divine dominion or examine blood for an omen...
Choose Blood as your Divine Dominion. You gain a Blood Dominion Gift and a pool of Divine Force points equal to your proficiency bonus. At level 1, this pool contains 0 points because this Dungeon World conversion uses a neutral proficiency bonus. You regain all expended points when you finish a long rest. Blood Dominion Gift, Sanguine Omen: when you study fresh blood, living flesh, or a recent wound, you may ask the GM one question about what caused it, who caused it, or what will happen to the wounded creature. The GM answers truthfully, though the omen may be symbolic or incomplete.
- Human: Voice of Empire
When When you invoke human custom, imperial law, or your supposed divine lineage to command attention...
When you enter a settlement or military camp, you may declare a formal imperial identity, lineage, or office. Roll+CHA. On a 10+, choose two: officials recognize your authority, you gain access to restricted information, you secure temporary lodging and supplies, or you identify the most influential local faction. On a 7-9, choose one, but your claim creates suspicion or a future obligation. On a 6-, your lie or inherited title becomes a liability.
- Human: Mortal Vessel
When When you read an omen for one of your companions...
When you interpret an omen for a companion during a dangerous journey, name the person and ask the GM what threat their fate currently points toward. The GM answers honestly. If the companion follows your warning, they take +1 forward when confronting that threat. If they reject it, you take +1 forward against them, but the GM may reveal that the omen was incomplete.

Appearance
A tall, gaunt human with hollow cheeks, pale olive skin, and severe gray eyes that seem to focus on events no one else can see. His black hair is cut short in the style of an imperial officer, with a single white streak above his brow. He wears layered crimson and black robes beneath battered scale armor, a laurel-shaped iron circlet, and a bloodstained cloak. His hands are slender and ink-marked, while his posture remains rigid and ceremonial despite his frail build.
Mannerisms
He touches two fingers to his lips before speaking a prophecy, counts silently on his knuckles when weighing a decision, and often stares at a companion's throat as though measuring the pulse of fate.
Personality
Measured, ceremonial, and intensely observant. Octavian speaks as though every conversation is a negotiation with history, and he rarely raises his voice because he believes certainty is more intimidating than anger. He can show genuine tenderness toward the prophesied savior, but that tenderness is inseparable from possession and control.
Ideals
Dominion. The destined Imperator must rule, and I will bend every law, life, and god toward that inevitable salvation.
Bonds
____ has unknowingly appeared in several fragments of my prophecy, so I will protect them until their role is revealed. I suspect ____ may be the twice blooded Imperator, and I will quietly test their worth while concealing the full prophecy. I owe ____ a life, but I will collect that debt when the fate of Rome demands it.
Flaws
Octavian treats people as instruments of prophecy and cannot accept that the future might be wrong. He is willing to sacrifice innocents, allies, and entire cities if he believes doing so preserves the foretold imperial destiny.
Quirks
Background
Octavian was born into a forgotten branch of a prophetic cult that claimed descent from a god who once ruled the borders between fate and history. The cult expected divine signs from him, but for most of his life the signs were humiliatingly small. A candle guttering in the shape of a question. A dream that ended before its meaning arrived. A chicken refusing to cross a threshold. He became an object of polite disappointment, useful only as a ceremonial interpreter for men who already knew what they intended to do. That changed in a ruined roadside shrine when Octavian opened his hands and pulled a coil of warm entrails from empty air. The organs writhed across the altar and arranged themselves into a prophecy written in blood. It spoke of the twice blooded, the Imperator, and the savior of Rome. It named no face, only a chain of images that Octavian has begun to recognize in the world around him. Since that night, he has abandoned every former loyalty. Kingdoms, gods, companions, and conscience are all expendable beside the one person destined to fulfill the vision. Octavian now travels with adventurers because prophecy has placed them near the coming Imperator, or because one of them may be the Imperator themselves. He will protect the chosen savior, manipulate the uncertain, and destroy anyone who threatens the foretold order. He believes that history is a weapon, and he intends to hold the handle.
