Appearance
Vamir Oloris is a tall, slender wood elf with pale skin, vivid blue eyes, and dark hair tied at the nape, its length broken by several striking white streaks. A jagged scar runs from his left cheek toward his jaw, partly hidden beneath a short beard of pale stubble. He wears muted earth-toned leather and weatherproof sailor's layers, with a gray-green cloak that breaks up his outline in woodland and marsh. His longbow is carefully maintained, its grip wrapped in faded blue cord from the Silver Wind. Miska, his large wolf companion, has smoky gray fur and faintly glowing runes beneath the coat.
Mannerisms
Vamir turns his head slightly before answering, as though listening for a distant tide. He checks exits, windows, ceiling beams, and the nearest solid cover whenever he enters a room. Before firing, he exhales in a slow rhythm learned from sailors trimming sails in heavy wind.
Personality
Quietly attentive and difficult to surprise, Vamir notices small details that others overlook, especially changes in weather, posture, and tone of voice. He is courteous without being warm, loyal without being demonstrative, and unexpectedly gentle with animals. He treats every adventuring group as a ship's crew, believing that competence and reliability matter more than charm.
Ideals
A crew is measured by what it does when the ship is sinking. No one should be left behind merely because rescue is difficult.
Bonds
The Silver Wind and Captain Taenaran Zubrin deserve justice, even if the truth proves more painful than the legend. Vamir will protect Poppy Willowbrook, Bubu Sh'Bunka, and Wilborin Barvalor because they became his crew when he had none. He cannot abandon the rune-covered brass orb or the mystery of Miska's connection to the Moonfire Monastery.
Flaws
Vamir distrusts any calm surface, whether it is water, a polished floor, or a friendly smile. He hides injuries until they become dangerous and would rather risk himself than admit he does not remember something important. When frightened, he becomes coldly practical and may abandon compassion for the sake of a clean escape.

Background
Vamir Oloris was born just outside A'va Calan, where the forest thinned toward salt marshes and the sea wind carried stories farther than any road. His mother called him Vamirithraun, a name reserved for family and trusted kin. At eighty-two, restless and fascinated by the half-elf captain Taenaran Zubrin, Vamir stowed away aboard the Silver Wind, a merchant vessel of the Azure Sea. He expected discipline, hard work, and perhaps a glimpse of the wider world. He found all three. He learned to read tides, clouds, rigging, and the silences that passed between sailors when danger approached. The Silver Wind was taken by pirates. Captain Zubrin was killed, the ship was burned, and the vessel was scuttled beneath a moonless sea. Vamir remembers falling, the smell of pitch, and a blue light moving below the waves. He awoke nearly one hundred miles away with facial scars, missing memories, and a small brass orb covered in unfamiliar runes clenched in his hand. In the years that followed, he worked as a river boat driver inland, using patient observation and practical wilderness skills to survive while trying to reconstruct the missing hours of his life. During that time, he encountered a wounded wolf spirit at the edge of an abandoned monastery dedicated to the Moonfire. The spirit, Miska, chose to remain beside him. Their bond is not fully understood, even by Vamir. Now Vamir travels as a scout and archer, taking the first watch and the least comfortable seat. He has faced fiends, constructs, oozes, ravens, bandits, and the hungry false shape of a mimic. He nearly died in the Sodent Vaults, but Poppy Willowbrook restored him when his strength failed. He trusts Bubu Sh'Bunka and Wilborin Barvalor in battle, though he rarely speaks of trust aloud. Somewhere beneath his scars and broken memories lies the answer to how he survived the Silver Wind, why the orb was placed in his hand, and whether the pirates who destroyed his first life are still sailing.
