Appearance
A slender high elf woman with pale bronze skin, long ash-blonde hair braided with blue thread, and clear gray-green eyes. Her pointed ears bear small copper rings, and a faded constellation-shaped scar marks the inside of her left wrist. She wears practical travel clothes beneath loose monk's robes, with her sleeves wrapped for combat and her feet protected by soft leather sandals.
Mannerisms
She pauses before answering difficult questions and traces invisible routes on nearby surfaces with one fingertip. When irritated, she begins counting her breaths in Elvish under her breath. She rarely sits with her back to an open doorway.
Personality
Eiloua is curious, analytical, and cheerfully irreverent toward authority. She notices small practical details that others overlook, such as which boot is wearing thin or where rainwater will collect. She enjoys intelligent disagreement and treats a good argument as a form of companionship, though she has little patience for people who invoke tradition without understanding its purpose.
Ideals
Freedom. Knowledge belongs in motion. A truth locked away from those who need it is only another kind of chain.
Bonds
She carries a fragment of the monastery's oldest map and intends to return it only after every route marked on it has been made safe for ordinary travelers.
Flaws
She cannot leave a locked door, concealed map, or forbidden archive alone, even when investigating it is obviously dangerous. She also mistakes intellectual certainty for moral clarity and can become coldly dismissive toward people who act from instinct rather than reason.
Quirks
Background
Eiloua Soteri grew up among a far-roaming elven caravan that crossed high valleys, salt plains, and the dark forests beyond settled roads. Her people taught her to read weather in the shape of clouds, remember a trail after seeing it once, and treat every border as a temporary idea. She was an observant child with an inconvenient habit of asking why old customs mattered, especially when those customs harmed someone who had no voice in them. Her restless questions eventually led her to a remote monastery where the elders valued discipline more than obedience and accepted her as an apprentice. At the monastery, Eiloua learned that stillness could be a form of rebellion. She studied breath, balance, and the hidden rhythm of movement, eventually turning her sharp intellect toward the patterns behind martial training. She left after discovering that the monastery's leaders intended to seal away a collection of maps showing safe routes through a famine-stricken region. Eiloua copied the maps, opened the archive, and departed before dawn with a staff, a handful of traveling supplies, and several angry teachers behind her. Now she wanders as an outrider, guide, and occasional troublemaker, following rumors of places where knowledge has been hoarded and people have been forgotten.
