Appearance
A tall, lean aasimar man with warm brown skin, thick dark hair worn loosely to his shoulders, and calm amber eyes that brighten with a faint inner gold when he casts a spell. His celestial heritage appears as a subtle radiance beneath the skin of his hands and along his collarbones. He smells faintly of beeswax, dried rosemary, and old paper, a scent he never notices himself. His robes are practical rather than ceremonial, patched at the elbows and shortened unevenly at the hem. One immaculate blue prayer sash, carefully folded and mended many times, is the one item he always keeps in perfect condition.
Mannerisms
Mikheil touches two fingers to his prayer sash before making an important decision. When concentrating, he quietly counts under his breath in groups of three. He tends to begin apologies before anyone has accused him of anything.
Personality
Mikheil is warm, observant, and relentlessly willing to give people another chance. He speaks to strangers as though they have already earned his trust, but he watches their hands and listens closely to what they do not say. He enjoys humble comforts, strong tea, clean handwriting, and arguments about ethics that end with everyone sharing food.
Ideals
Mercy. Power is only holy when it is used to protect people who have no power of their own.
Bonds
The mountain shrine that raised him is threatened by a local lord who wants its land. Mikheil intends to return with enough influence, wealth, or allies to protect it without turning the shrine into a political tool.
Flaws
He is certain that refusing to help is morally worse than helping badly, so he frequently commits himself to problems he does not understand. He also becomes defensive when anyone suggests that his celestial heritage makes him special, despite secretly fearing that he is wasting a sacred gift.
Quirks
Background
Mikheil Arveliani was born during a spring storm in a mountain village where the old shrine stood between a monastery road and a market path. The villagers said a column of golden light had appeared over the shrine that night. Mikheil's mother dismissed the story as frightened gossip, but the shrine's aging keeper recognized something in the infant's quiet, watchful gaze. He was raised among bells, incense, copied prayers, and arguments about whether kindness counted if it was performed for praise. The answer he settled on was simple: kindness counted most when nobody was watching. As a young acolyte, Mikheil discovered that the prayers he copied sometimes answered themselves. A candle flame leaned toward his hand, a sick child's fever broke beneath his touch, and once, in a moment of anger, a whole row of votive lamps burst into white-gold fire. His teachers called the power a blessing, then a test, then a danger, depending on who had been frightened by it. Mikheil left the shrine with permission to seek wisdom beyond its walls, carrying its blue prayer sash and a stubborn belief that divine gifts belong in the service of ordinary people. His sorcery now manifests as radiant, draconic fire, though he still insists on beginning every spell with a prayer, even when the spell has already gone wrong.
