Appearance
Coboll is a stocky dwarf with salt and pepper hair tucked behind his ears and a beard braided with copper wire. He wears thick-rimmed spectacles and a suit of scale mail that glows with faint blue light. He is rarely seen without his iron spider construct trailing close behind.
Mannerisms
He adjusts his glasses every time he starts a sentence with the word actually, speaking in a rhythmic, measured tone.
Personality
Coboll is scholarly and precise, often treating conversations like structural assessments. He is extremely patient when explaining mechanics but has very little tolerance for those who ignore historical facts.
Ideals
Discovery. Knowledge is the foundation of progress, and ancient secrets must be brought into the light.
Bonds
My research journal is my life's work. It contains the only blueprints of my construct, Web.
Flaws
I am socially distant and often forget that living beings have feelings that cannot be adjusted with a wrench.
Quirks
Background
Coboll was born in the Great Archive of Oakhaven, where he served as a record keeper for the clan's geological findings. While his brothers worked the steel, Coboll worked the scrolls, discovering that ancient dwarven designs were far more advanced than modern techniques. He became obsessed with the concept of the living geometry, the idea that physical shapes can hold magical resonance. This pursuit transformed him from a librarian into an artificer, as he began building the objects he read about in dusty tombs. He eventually left his home after discovering a letter from a deceased colleague describing a lost mechanical core hidden in the surface world. Now, he travels to find that core and perfect his own creations, bringing the logic of the mountains to the chaos of adventure. He treats every battle as a field test for his theories.
