Appearance
Sszkira is a lean, poised high elf woman of medium height, with warm bronze skin, straight black hair braided close to the scalp with copper prayer beads, and long pointed ears marked by tiny geometric tattoos. She dresses in a well-kept black robe beneath fitted leather armor, with red thread sewn into the hems in the shape of unfamiliar infernal letters. Within a minute of meeting her, most people notice that her eyes keep moving around the room, measuring exits, hands, windows, and the distance between every person present. She also repeatedly checks the clasp of her holy symbol, even when it is already secure.
Mannerisms
She pauses before answering difficult questions, not to think, but to study the speaker's face for leverage. During conversation, she keeps one hand near her holy symbol and angles her body toward the nearest exit. When invoking magic, she recites the final words of a prayer in a calm, almost clerical tone.
Personality
Sszkira is controlled, observant, and unfailingly polite, even when threatening someone. She prefers written agreements to spoken promises and remembers every inconsistency in another person's story. Her intelligence is formidable, but her low physical endurance makes her careful about exposure, prolonged combat, and any situation she cannot control.
Ideals
Order. Freedom is simply the privilege of the strong to impose their will. A perfect hierarchy, enforced without hesitation, would end suffering by ending uncertainty.
Bonds
When the temple elders discovered her forbidden correspondence with a voice from beyond the mortal planes, they cast her out and sealed her name from the archives. The voice belonged to an archdevil who offered her a different answer: law without compassion, hierarchy without doubt, and power sufficient to punish anyone who resisted. Sszkira accepted the pact, then returned to the world as a wandering acolyte, using familiar rites and a stolen holy symbol to infiltrate institutions, identify their weaknesses, and prepare them for eventual submission to her patron's order.
Flaws
She treats compassion as a structural weakness and instinctively looks for the price hidden inside every kindness. Once she has decided that someone is useful, she struggles to see them as a person rather than an asset. Her greatest fear is not damnation, but discovering that her patron's promised order is merely another form of chaos wearing a crown.
Quirks
Background
Sszkira was raised in a high elven temple devoted to the keeping of sacred law. The priests taught that every prayer, sacrifice, and judgment preserved the structure of the world. She excelled at copying decrees and memorizing ancient liturgies, but she was less interested in mercy than in the machinery of obedience. Her questions became increasingly dangerous. Why should a divine command be trusted merely because it was old? What authority could overrule the gods themselves?
