They named themselves the Brassroot Conclave to honor their dual devotion to mechanism and the rooted communities they protected. Their first public act was the 'Bellforge Night' - the rerouting of a House-controlled shard-bell so its toll warned Lower Dura of a scheduled sweep by predatory recruiters. That night consolidated reputation and recruitment. Over the years they matured from a neighborhood aid group to a focused movement dedicated to technological justice for Sharn's low wards. Their watershed moment came when they intercepted and rerouted an industrial consignment of labor automata destined for Lower Dura; the public demonstration of those machines' replacement of human labor galvanized both allies and enemies and marked them as a genuine threat.
