Empire of Patronus

Founded in 475 AD during the chaotic twilight of the Western Roman Empire, the Empire of Patronus was forged as a desperate bulwark against total social collapse. While the Roman administration crumbled, Elinore Lukesman seized the opportunity to consolidate scattered remnants of the Verm Neck society, an ancient subterranean fraternity, into a disciplined military force. They spent centuries refining a brutal meritocracy, slowly absorbing fiefdoms and expanding through strategic cruelty. Their most infamous period involved a multi-generational campaign to reclaim former Roman territories, leading to direct conflict with the emerging Romano-British lords, most notably the young Pendragon line. Although their formal empire eventually dissolved, their ideology and members did not vanish, instead mutating and infiltrating later holy orders.
