The RABBIT Platoon

Aurora Military Academy was founded to train officers who could protect the kingdom without becoming servants of any single noble house. For generations, its graduates formed the backbone of the kingdom's elite forces. The academy's culture prized initiative, loyalty to one's unit, and the belief that an order was not legitimate merely because it was written. That doctrine made Aurora respected by soldiers and increasingly inconvenient to politicians. In recent years, Aurora's instructors began investigating unexplained disappearances along the northern frontier and discovered references to a classified defense project called the Hush Bell. The project allegedly used military recruits to contain threats that could not be defeated through ordinary warfare. On the night of the academy's closure, royal auditors arrived with sealed orders. The faculty was dismissed, the cadets were sent home, and several senior instructors vanished. The official explanation cited budget failures, corruption, and unsafe training practices. The closure became a watershed moment when the academy's central archive was removed under armed guard and a fire destroyed part of the command wing. RABBIT Platoon refused evacuation and occupied Kousagi Park. Their protest began as a student demonstration but evolved into a national crisis when former cadets, parents, soldiers, and provincial governors started treating the platoon as the last visible remnant of Aurora. Today, RABBIT survives through public sympathy, clandestine allies, and constant movement between peaceful protest and covert resistance.
