Its story
A dense, nearly black disc of star-iron, broad enough to cover the bearer from shoulder to hip. Swirling bands of obsidian-glass cross its face like a frozen whirlpool, catching the light in green and violet flashes. Flecks of crystal drift just above the surface, while the shield's rim tugs at loose cloth and grit as though drawing the world slightly off balance.
Lore
In the Verdant Heart Nexus, the Graviton Crest is called a promise against falling. Its obsidian-glass was cut from the Trenches, where gravity twists without warning and ancient ruins drift through crystal-lit darkness. Some route-keepers say the shield remembers every direction at once, and chooses the one that will keep its bearer standing.
History
Forged in the deep settlements of the Verdant Heart Nexus, the shield was made to protect route-keepers crossing the Graviton Trenches, where a careless step could turn a floor into a wall. Its first bearer used its repulsive pulse to clear a collapsing passage, sending stone and pursuers alike tumbling back from the ledge. It later passed between Nexus delvers, each adding a thin line of star-metal to its rim to mark a safe return.
