Brambleline

This living grappling device coils from wrist to elbow in thick, supple vines, its thorns lying flat against the skin until summoned. A seedpod rests over the back of the hand, split by a narrow golden eye. When fired, the pod snaps open and launches a barbed tendril that whistles through the air, unfurling leaves as it flies. The vine smells of rain-soaked earth and crushed basil, and warm amber sap pulses beneath its green bark.
