Its story
A length of blackthorn, dark as old blood, serves as the shaft of this staff. A tarnished silver skull caps its crown, its empty eye sockets seeming to follow the living. The grip has been worn smooth by generations of hands. Faint necromantic sigils stir to a sickly green glow whenever the staff is held near a living creature.
Lore
The congregation taught that every living body carried a hidden eye: the mortal weakness through which death could look inward. Their celebrants used this staff to expose that weakness, leaving the strong trembling and the faithful convinced they had witnessed a holy revelation.
History
Made for the high celebrant of the Veiled Eye’s Fallen Congregation, the staff passed from preacher to preacher as the cult gathered in hidden chapels. It was recovered from the congregation’s ruined hoard, where its sigils still brightened at the approach of the living.
