Crown of the Final Spire

The Crown of the Final Spire is tall, narrow, and brutally severe, more like a fragment of a funerary engine than a symbol of royalty. Its band consists of blackened metal resembling the architecture and machinery of the Final Spire, with thin jagged points rising like miniature spires around the wearer’s head. Ancient gold and bronze filigree runs between the points in branching channels, forming a ritual circuit. Set into the brow is a large violet gemstone containing a slowly rotating light, as if a tiny portion of the Spire’s engine still turns inside it. Faint purple energy travels through the engraved channels whenever the crown is near a dying creature. When its greater powers awaken, distant rhythmic thumping surrounds the wearer, like dead machinery briefly returning to motion.
