Codex of the Opened Eye

The Codex of the Opened Eye is a heavy, ageless book bound in midnight-blue dragonhide and reinforced with silver clasps. Its pages appear blank until a creature studies an object, creature, place, or magical effect while touching the codex. Then ink flows across the parchment, forming diagrams, histories, tactical notes, legends, weaknesses, and symbolic ratings of rarity and affinity. The book constantly rearranges its contents into a language the attuned reader understands. Its final page is always blank, waiting for knowledge that has not yet been discovered.
