Mirror of the Merciful Sun

A palm-sized bronze mirror framed in red lacquer and bound with white shimenawa cord. Its polished surface never reflects the viewer exactly as they are. Instead, it reveals the light they carry within, showing a warm golden silhouette surrounded by drifting clouds. Three comma-shaped jewels are set into its rim, and a tiny crimson sun appears at its center whenever the mirror is held against darkness. The mirror is warm even in winter and smells faintly of incense after it is used.
