Its story
A close-fitted overlay of heavy, oil-dark leather, lined with pulverized void-salt, powdered ironwood charcoal, and fine woven lead thread. Its overlapping panels seal at the wrists, throat, and ankles with broad buckles; pale salt grains glitter in the seams when exposed to the Verdant Heart’s crystal glow. The suit is built to be worn over clothing, robes, or armor and does not alter the wearer’s Armor Class.
Lore
Among Verdara’s deep delvers, the suit is called a quietskin. Its layered lining cannot silence the Nexus, but it can blunt the bite of its stranger emanations long enough for a crew to retreat, take readings, or press farther into the glowing roots.
History
Verdaran fieldwrights developed the first suits after delvers returned from deep strata with their equipment warped by leyline surges. Later versions were tailored for root-surveyors and expedition guards entering the caverns around the Verdant Heart Nexus.
