Its story
A reinforced body harness of black obsidian plates, verdigris-brass ribs, and heavy gyroscopic lead weights. The weights rotate in muffled counterpoint as the wearer moves, while fine green crystal threads pulse faintly across the frame. Its broad straps smell of wet leather and mineral dust; when gravity shifts nearby, the harness gives a low, resonant hum.
Lore
Among Verdara's delvers, a steady hum from the harness means the wearer has found their footing, even when the cavern floor disagrees. The device does not command the Nexus or mend its instability. It simply gives its wearer a stubborn point of reference amid the shifting pull.
History
Verdaran delvers first commissioned the harness after gravity began tilting along unstable routes near the Verdant Heart Nexus. Nexus-tenders refined its counterweights in the crystal-lit caverns, where each test sent tools and loose stones drifting sideways. It became prized by surveyors who charted routes through the region's shifting depths.
