Vorath, World-Eater

Old cosmographies speak of a maw that chewed on the seams between realms. Children of the sunless mountains tell of the 'Starless Reaver' that comes when the constellations wobble. Sorcerers who studied planar collapse wrote of 'Vorath' as a theoretical attractor of entropy before a real specimen was ever encountered.

Aura of Unmaking. Vorath is surrounded by a field of nullification that reduces ongoing beneficial magic on enemies. Active buffs have their durations halved while within 200 feet of Vorath.
Damage Reduction and Spell Resistance. Vorath has Damage Reduction 40/epic. Attacks made with artifacts or weapons sanctified by creation rituals bypass this DR. In addition, Vorath has spell resistance 45.
Planar Regeneration. Vorath regenerates 60 hit points at the start of its turn. This regeneration fails if it takes positive-energy-dominant damage in an amount equal to or greater than 200 in a single hit.
Creation of Shadow-Spawns. Vorath's presence slowly corrupts magic-wielding creatures. A creature reduced to below 0 by Vorath's attacks becomes a shadow spawn under Vorath's control after rounds unless restored with a miracle or wish.
Phylactery Dependency. If Vorath's phylactery shards are all destroyed it loses its ability to fully manifest and its CR effectively drops by 8 for the next 24 hours while it attempts to reform. The shards are hidden in the lair and protected by minor void anomalies.
Devouring Onslaught. Vorath sweeps its maw and claws in a brutal combination attack. Melee attack: Bite +45 ( piercing plus negative). Two claw attacks +43 ( slashing each). Tail slam +41 ( bludgeoning, target must succeed on a Fortitude save or be stunned 1 round). Vorath can make all these attacks as part of a single action labeled Devouring Onslaught.
Entropic Breath. Vorath inhales the essence of the battlefield and unleashes a wave of entropic energy in a 120-foot cone. All creatures in the cone take negative energy damage ( Reflex half). Undead and constructs take half damage and are pushed 30 feet and knocked prone on a failure. Once used, Entropic Breath cannot be used for rounds.
Shadow Tendrils. Vorath lashes tendrils of shadow that grapple and siphon life. Ranged touch attack +40; on hit the target is grappled (escape ). While grappled, the target takes negative energy per round and the target's healing is reduced by 50%. Vorath can hold up to four creatures in this way.
Dread Roar. Vorath lets loose a terrible roar. All enemies within 200 feet who can hear must make a Will save or become shaken for 1 minute and take psychic damage. Targets may repeat the save at the end of each of their turns to reduce shaken to frightened for 1 round on a success and to remove the effect on a success by 2 DCs.
Rift Rend. Vorath selects a single creature within 500 feet and pulls it through a rift of unmaking. The target makes a Fortitude save. On a failure, the target is banished to a pocket of null-reality for rounds and suffers negative energy damage; on a success the target takes half damage and is pushed 50 feet away. This attack can be used twice per encounter.
Magic Absorption. When targeted by a hostile spell, Vorath may attempt to absorb it. Roll. If the spell's level is less than or equal to Vorath's epic threshold, Vorath negates the spell (no save) and gains temporary hit points equal to twice the spell level times 10. If higher, the caster must succeed on a Will save or be stunned 1 round.
Teleport Preemption. If a creature within reach attempts to teleport away, Vorath may make an immediate melee attack at to hit against the teleporting creature before the teleport completes.
Tendril Snap (Costs 2 Actions). Vorath uses Shadow Tendrils to attempt to reel a grappling tendril toward a new target, grapple .
Entropic Bolt (Costs 3 Actions). Vorath unleashes a focused Entropic Bolt at a single target within 600 feet: ranged touch +42, deals negative energy ( Reflex half).
Void Shimmer. Vorath shifts its form defensively, gaining +10 AC until the end of its next turn and reflecting 25% of energy damage back to the attacker.
9th level
Innate Epic SpellsUniversal Vorath can cast a set of innate spells without material components; each counts as a standard action unless noted and spell DCs are 42. Example prepared list: antimagic field (greater) 3/day, disintegrate 3/day, power word stun 1/day, plane shift (banish only) 2/day, time stop 1/day. Vorath also has constant detect magic and sustain spells that feed its regeneration.
