Cortex-Harvester Euphoriarch
Scholars and smugglers call these beings cortex-harvesters because their minds are literally too rich to waste. Their torso-sized brains can be removed only with specialized preservation gear while the creature still lives or lingers near death. In that moment, the creature's psychic output peaks and saturates the air with bliss, grief, and color-slick memories. The sensation helps mask the violence of the extraction and makes attackers hesitate, as if their own minds are persuading them that the thing before them should not be harmed. Once the creature dies, the effect collapses. The resulting Psionic Cortex is still valuable, but no longer carries the same intoxicating force or potency.
