Constructed Form. The Twigwolf is made of interwoven plant material animated by magic. It does not require air, food, sleep, or drink. It is immune to poison and treasure-harming conditions inherent to living creatures.
Keen Hearing and Smell. The Twigwolf has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Pack Tactics. The Twigwolf has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the Twigwolf's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 () piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. On a hit the Twigwolf also attempts to bite and hold: the target is grappled (escape ) if the target is Large or smaller. The Twigwolf can have only one grappled target at a time.
Merge. As an action, two or more Twigwolves within 5 feet of one another can interlock their wooden forms and merge into a single Combined Timberwolf. Merging consumes the action of each wolf participating. The Combined Timberwolf uses the variant stat block (see Variants). The merge lasts until the Combined Timberwolf is reduced to 0 hit points, the participants spend an action to separate, or 1 hour passes.
Interpose. If a creature within 5 feet makes an attack against a creature other than the Twigwolf, the Twigwolf may make one bite attack against that creature as a reaction if it has not already taken an attack this turn.
