The creature's psionic field does not merely confuse the mind, it seduces it with relief, making resistance feel unnecessary. That same field is what makes its living cortex so prized. Once separated from the body too late, the resonance collapses and the harvest loses much of its potency. In black markets and psionic circles, a living cortex can buy a kingdom, a resurrection, or a mind-bending ascension.

Magic Resistance. The entity has advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.
Legendary Resistance. If the entity fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead, three times per day.

Euphoric Overload. The entity floods a creature within 60 feet that can hear or feel its presence with narcotic joy. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, it takes 45 () psychic damage and is charmed until the end of its next turn. While charmed this way, the target is incapacitated and its speed is halved. On a success, it takes half damage and is not charmed. A creature that succeeds is immune to Euphoric Overload for 24 hours.
Brain-Taste. The entity targets one creature it can see within 90 feet. The target must succeed on a Intelligence saving throw or have its mind partially unraveled, taking 27 () psychic damage and losing the benefit of any advantage on its next attack roll or saving throw before the end of its next turn.
Pleasure Spike. When a creature the entity can see within 60 feet succeeds on an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throw, the entity inflicts a flash of intrusive pleasure on that creature. The creature takes 10 () psychic damage and cannot take reactions until the start of its next turn.
Drift. The entity moves up to half its flying speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Mesmeric Pulse (Costs 2 Actions). One creature the entity can see within 60 feet must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the end of its next turn. While charmed this way, the creature cannot take reactions.
