Vhalzareth the Red Engineer - AI-generated fantasy Monster

Vhalzareth the Red Engineer

Vhalzareth the Red Engineer designed the Ashen Circuit as a machine capable of converting demonic aggression into stable planar power. He believes the device will let him manufacture obedient engines of war from raw fiendish essence. The core beneath the machinery is not merely fuel. It is a captive demon that still possesses enough will to resist, sabotage, and whisper through the hall.

Infernal Master Engineer. Vhalzareth has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. He has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, frightened, paralyzed, poisoned, or stunned.
Magnetic Climb. Vhalzareth can move across vertical metal surfaces and chains without falling. He can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down, without making an ability check.
Red Crystal Conduction. Vhalzareth's weapon attacks are magical. When he deals fire damage to a creature, he can choose to ignore resistance to that fire damage.
Ashen Circuit Hazards. At initiative count 20, each active socket produces one effect. Roll or choose: a 20-foot-long walkway buckles and becomes difficult terrain; a chain lashes through a 15-foot line, forcing a Dexterity save or dealing 14 () slashing damage; or a red crystal pulse forces creatures within 10 feet of the socket to make a Constitution save or become blinded until initiative count 20 on the next round.
Legendary Resistance. If Vhalzareth fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead. If he uses this trait while standing within 10 feet of an active socket, that socket immediately becomes unstable and cannot produce a hazard on the next initiative count 20.
Core's Rebellion. When Vhalzareth is reduced to 165 hit points or fewer, the demon-made core lashes out. The first time this occurs, every creature within 30 feet of the central platform must make a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the end of its next turn. Vhalzareth is immune to this effect.
Multiattack. Vhalzareth makes three attacks, using Red Engineer's Blade, Crystal Bolt, or Chain of Severance in any combination.
Red Engineer's Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 () slashing damage plus 13 () fire damage. If the target is concentrating, it has disadvantage on the resulting Constitution saving throw.
Crystal Bolt. Ranged Spell Attack: to hit, range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 27 () fire and force damage, and the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 20 feet. A creature pushed into machinery or a wall takes 10 () bludgeoning damage and falls prone.
Chain of Severance. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: 22 () slashing damage plus 9 () lightning damage. The target is grappled, escape . Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained, and Vhalzareth cannot use this chain against another target.
Redline Convergence (Recharge 5-6). Vhalzareth chooses up to three creatures he can see within 120 feet. Each target must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 36 () fire and force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. On a failed save, a target also loses any reaction it has until the end of its next turn. The beams ignite unattended flammable objects and pass through creatures without stopping.
Energize Socket. Vhalzareth activates one empty socket on the black-metal engine. The socket fills with red light and remains active until Vhalzareth is incapacitated or the socket is disabled. Each active socket grants Vhalzareth one additional legendary action per round and causes the engine hall to produce one hazard at initiative count 20. A character adjacent to a socket can disable it with an action by succeeding on a Intelligence (Arcana), Dexterity (Thieves' Tools), or Strength (Athletics) check. A failed check causes 10 () force damage. Once a socket is disabled, it cannot be reactivated.
Machinery Collapse (Recharge 4-6). Vhalzareth targets a point he can see within 120 feet. Chains, walkways, and loose machinery violently tear toward that point. Each creature within 20 feet of the point must make a Strength saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes 18 () bludgeoning damage, is pulled up to 15 feet, and falls prone. On a success, it takes half damage and is not pulled. The area becomes difficult terrain until the end of Vhalzareth's next turn.
Redirect Through the Circuit. When Vhalzareth is hit by an attack while within 30 feet of an active socket, he reduces the damage by 18 () and teleports to an unoccupied space within 10 feet of that socket. The socket then becomes unstable and produces a hazard at initiative count 20 on the next round.
Calibrated Movement. Vhalzareth makes one Crystal Bolt attack or moves up to half his speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Arc Flash. Vhalzareth targets one creature he can see within 60 feet. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 13 () lightning damage and have its speed reduced to 0 until the start of its next turn.
Precision Strike (Costs 2 Actions). Vhalzareth makes one Red Engineer's Blade attack or Chain of Severance attack.
Reconfigure Terrain (Costs 2 Actions). Vhalzareth causes a 10-foot square of walkway, chain, or machinery within 120 feet to violently shift. Creatures in that area must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or fall prone and slide up to 10 feet toward the nearest edge.
Emergency Overdrive (Costs 3 Actions). Vhalzareth activates an empty socket without using an action, or uses Redline Convergence if all sockets are active. He cannot use this legendary action if he is incapacitated.
