The Aresforged Brute is said to be one of Ares' favorite answers to insult, defiance, or sacred oathbreaking. Unlike a mere monster, it is a lesson given muscle and hunger. Some priests claim that the god of war made the beast by combining the endurance of a siege ram with the speed of a spear thrust, then taught it to despise hesitation. Wherever it walks, banners fall, drums quicken, and lesser soldiers remember every fear they ever tried to bury.

Ares' Bloodrage. The brute has advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. In addition, whenever it takes damage, it gains 1 rage point, to a maximum of 3. At the start of its turn, if it has 3 rage points, it enters a rage until the end of the battle. While raging, it has advantage on melee attack rolls, and its melee weapon attacks deal an extra 3 damage.
Breaker of Lines. The brute can move through the space of any creature larger than Tiny as if it were difficult terrain. The first time it enters a creature's space on a turn, that creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Divine Charge. The brute ignores nonmagical difficult terrain. If it moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a spear or slam attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 () damage and must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 10 feet and knocked prone.
Rage Counter. When a creature the brute can see hits it with a melee attack, the brute can lash out with a savage counterstrike. The attacker takes 7 () slashing damage.
