Dread Serpent - AI-generated fantasy Monster

Dread Serpent

Legend claims Fenmarel Mestarine forged the Dread Serpent from five elven brothers who died defending a hidden woodland sanctuary. Whether the deity truly created it, or whether an enemy twisted an older sacred myth, remains uncertain. The shadow exploiting the serpent's image claims that the beast is punishment made flesh. In truth, each head retains a fragment of the brothers' loyalty and can sometimes be reached through their names, shared memories, or the restoration of their burial rites.

Fiveheaded Awareness. The Dread Serpent has five heads and can see in five directions at once. It has advantage on saving throws against being blinded, deafened, stunned, or knocked unconscious. It cannot be surprised, and it can make up to five opportunity attacks per round, but no more than one against each creature.
Shadow Regeneration. If the Dread Serpent starts its turn in dim light or darkness and has at least 1 hit point, it regains 15 hit points. This trait does not function if the serpent took radiant damage since the end of its previous turn or if the five elven relics are exposed and sanctified.
Magic Resistance. The Dread Serpent has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the Dread Serpent fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead. It can use this trait three times per day.
Royal Venom. The Dread Serpent's bite and tail attacks are magical. A creature poisoned by one of these attacks has disadvantage on saving throws against the serpent's other abilities until the poisoned condition ends.
Root-Crawler. The Dread Serpent can move through nonmagical plants and undergrowth without being slowed by them. Magical plants and difficult terrain created by the serpent do not impede it.
Multiattack. The serpent makes one Bite attack, one Venomous Tail attack, and one Shadow Coil attack.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 18 () piercing damage plus 10 () poison damage. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become poisoned for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Venomous Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 16 () bludgeoning damage plus 7 () poison damage, and the target is grappled (escape ). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the Dread Serpent cannot use its tail against another target.
Shadow Coil. The Dread Serpent exhales a veil of living shadow in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 45 () necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature that fails the save is also blinded until the end of its next turn. The area becomes heavily obscured until the start of the serpent's next turn.
Sibilant Command. The Dread Serpent targets one creature it can see within 60 feet. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be magically compelled to move up to half its speed toward the serpent and make one weapon attack against a creature of the serpent's choice. The target is immune to this ability for 24 hours after succeeding on the save.
Fivefold Parry. When the Dread Serpent is hit by an attack, it adds 4 to its AC against that attack, potentially causing it to miss. The serpent must see the attacker, and it can use this reaction twice per round but only once per attack.
Lashing Head. The Dread Serpent makes one Bite attack or moves up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Whisper of Betrayal. The Dread Serpent targets one creature within 30 feet that can hear it. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on its next attack roll before the end of its next turn.
Coiling Strike (Costs 2 Actions). The Dread Serpent makes one Venomous Tail attack, or it uses Sibilant Command.
Fivefold Eclipse (Costs 3 Actions). The Dread Serpent uses Shadow Coil, if available, or recharges it immediately and uses it. Each creature that fails the saving throw against the ability is also frightened until the end of its next turn.
