Gloomvine Reaver

Old hunters tell of a black vine that hungers for more than meat. In some regions the gloomvine is blamed for the disappearance of entire hunting parties. Alchemists prize its spores for tinctures that dull pain, while clerics warn that its blossoms are often an omen of a nearby burial ground or desecrated temple.

Plant Traits. The gloomvine is a plant creature. It does not breathe, is immune to poison and mind-affecting effects, and does not need to eat, sleep or breathe. It heals half as much from positive energy and takes twice damage from fire.
Grasping Tendrils. When the gloomvine hits with a Vine Lash it may attempt a free grapple as part of the attack. If it maintains the grapple, it deals slam damage at the start of its turn. The gloomvine's grab is a primary natural attack for purposes of effects.
Camouflage. The gloomvine can attempt to hide even while only lightly obscured, using its camouflaged coloration. It gains a +8 circumstance bonus to Stealth checks to remain hidden among foliage, shadows, or similar cover.
Spore Exhalation. Once per encounter as a standard action the gloomvine can exhale its Gloom Spore Cloud. Creatures affected must save or be sickened and take temporary Dexterity damage; a stronger failure induces nausea.
Vulnerability to Fire. The gloomvine is vulnerable to fire. Any fire damage it takes is increased by 50 percent.
Vine Lash. Melee vine strike. If the target is hit by a Vine Lash, the gloomvine attempts a free grapple as a secondary special attack. On a successful grapple the target is restrained until it escapes. A creature restrained by the gloomvine takes automatic slam damage each round it remains restrained.
Gloom Spore Cloud. The gloomvine exhales a cloud of dusky spores in a 15-foot cone. Creatures in the area must succeed at a Fortitude save or become sickened 1 and take temporary Dexterity damage. Creatures that fail by 5 or more are also nauseated for 1 round. The spores persist in the area for 1 round. Creatures with plant traits are unaffected.
Slams. A slam attack made by the bound vines. Damage listed is for each slam; a creature grabbed by the gloomvine is subject to automatic slam damage at the start of the vine's turn.
Seizing Snapback. If an attacker within reach tries to move away after hitting a creature the gloomvine has grappled, the gloomvine may make an immediate slam attack against the fleeing creature.
