Ssarnak, Curious Nothic - AI-generated fantasy Monster

Ssarnak, Curious Nothic

Ssarnak was once an ordinary nothic, but the bargain with the adventurers changed him. The head of the gang leader fed his hunger for meaning, not meat. Since then he has become fixated on the party as if they are a manuscript he cannot stop rereading. He has learned to ride the pressure of Far Realm energies without surrendering to their chaos. The corruption around him bends, but does not break him, because his obsession is stronger than madness. He does not want to consume the heroes. He wants to understand them deeply enough to keep them forever.

Keen Sight. Ssarnak has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
Far-Realm Unclouded. Ssarnak cannot be charmed or frightened, and he has advantage on saving throws against illusion spells and effects.
Secret Sense. Ssarnak can speak telepathically to a creature he can see within 60 feet, and he instinctively senses when a creature he can see is lying.
Shadow Hound. If Ssarnak starts his turn in dim light or darkness, he can take the Hide action as a bonus action.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 () slashing damage plus 3 () psychic damage.
Gaze of Unwanted Truth. Ranged Spell Attack: to hit, range 60 ft., one creature the nothic can see. Hit: 14 () psychic damage, and the target must succeed on a Intelligence saving throw or be unable to take reactions until the start of its next turn. On a failed save, Ssarnak also learns one surface secret or important fear the target currently hides, at the DM's discretion.
Rending Curiosity. Ssarnak targets one creature he can see within 30 feet. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or take 13 () psychic damage and be marked by Ssarnak's scrutiny for 1 minute. While marked, the first time each turn the target moves more than 10 feet, it takes 3 () psychic damage. The target can repeat the save at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
Caught in the Lie. When a creature Ssarnak can see within 30 feet speaks a lie he recognizes, he can move up to half his speed without provoking opportunity attacks and make one Claw attack against that creature.
