Rassa Drake-Lover
Ranger 6, Beast Master
Rassa Drake-Lover
Species
Cinderclaw
Appearance
Rassa is a compact cinderclaw woman with ochre scales dulled by years of volcanic dust and softened at the snout by pale, almost flour-white horn tips. Her jaw is broad and powerful, and when she laughs, the small blunt teeth along its sides show in an unexpectedly warm, lopsided grin. She moves with the quick, economical balance of someone raised on narrow ledges, keeping one hand free for a frightened animal even while climbing. Her leather harness creaks with whistles, feed pouches, grooming brushes, and little tins of harness oil. She smells of warm leather, fennel mash, singed wool, and drake musk, a scent she insists is merely 'good stable work.' The unexpected contradiction is her delicate habit of folding tiny paper flowers from discarded dispatch forms and tucking them into nesting stalls.
“Rassa speaks in a husky, carrying voice shaped by wind, forge noise, and years of calling across roost platforms. Her words are plain and practical, but her descriptions become unexpectedly tender when she discusses hatchlings or old drakes.”

Distinguishing Features
Whitened horn tips that look dusted with chalk.
A broad, toothy grin that appears whenever she is embarrassed.
A harness crowded with mismatched whistles, grooming tools, feed pouches, and tiny paper flowers.
A persistent scent of fennel mash, warm leather, and drake musk.
She keeps one claw hooked lightly around the nearest strap or rail whenever she is standing on a high platform.
Voice
“A husky alto with a carrying edge, often roughened by ash and cold wind. When speaking to drakes, she drops into a low rhythmic murmur that sounds almost like purring.”
Clothing
A soot-darkened leather harness over a sleeveless rust-red work tunic, reinforced climbing trousers, wrapped feet, a copper badge of the Roost Civic Welfare Co-op, and a weatherproof half-cloak lined with soft nesting wool
Body Language
Rassa leans toward anyone speaking about animals, but angles her body between young handlers and authority figures. Her claws tap twice against her harness before difficult decisions. When relaxed, she sways faintly as though matching the rhythm of a perched drake's breathing.
