Raelis Glass-Scale
Artificer 15, Battle Smith, Fighter 5, Eldritch Knight
Raelis Glass-Scale
Species
Dragonborn, White Ancestry
Appearance
Raelis is a lean, striking dragonborn woman whose frost-white scales glitter like broken bottle glass beneath the foundry lamps. Her scales are smallest and smoothest around her throat, then grow into sharp overlapping plates along her shoulders and spine, giving her silhouette the appearance of a walking shard pile. She moves with the controlled economy of someone accustomed to narrow catwalks, hot metal, and machinery that can kill inattentive workers. Her hands are broad at the palms but precise at the fingertips, and every gesture seems to measure distance, weight, or leverage. Despite her severe industrial presence, she wears a tiny blue silk ribbon tied around one horn, faded nearly gray from years of soot and heat.
“Her voice is low, dry, and slightly rasping, with a faint crystalline whistle at the end of long breaths. She speaks in short, exact sentences and uses technical metaphors even when discussing personal matters.”

Distinguishing Features
Her scales produce tiny glasslike clicks when she flexes her shoulders.
A thin blue silk ribbon is tied around her right horn, an unexpectedly delicate contrast to her soot-black industrial clothing.
Her left gauntlet is covered in thousands of microscopic test marks, each recording a failed design or dangerous material.
She carries a brass tuning fork and strikes it against weapons to judge hidden fractures by sound.
Her breath fogs briefly even in the hottest rooms, a remnant of her white dragon ancestry.
Voice
“A furnace-low contralto with a dry rasp, precise diction, and a faint glass-chime overtone when she exhales through her nose”
Clothing
Soot-blackened leather smithing apron over reinforced scale mail, thick protective gauntlets scorched by electric arcs, steel-toed work boots, a tool harness, a storm-blue scarf, and a heavy rune-etched smithing hammer looped to her belt
Body Language
Raelis stands slightly forward on the balls of her feet, as if braced against a sudden impact. She constantly adjusts the angle of her left gauntlet, taps metal surfaces with one claw, and turns her head toward machinery whenever a sound changes. Before answering a difficult question, she draws a slow breath through her teeth, producing a faint glassy whistle.
