Galen
Lesser Deity of Continuance
Galen
Species
Outsider
Appearance
Galen looks like a person assembled from several kinds of weather. His skin has the matte texture of river stone after rain, with tiny pale fissures along his hands that glow when he uses divine power. His straight black hair hangs to his jaw in damp, weightless strands, even in dry air. He moves with careful, economical steps, never quite shifting his balance the way a living body should. His face is calm and plainly human at first glance, but his shadow sometimes turns its head before he does. The contradictory impression he leaves is unsettling: he looks breakable, almost underfed, yet standing near him feels like standing beside a mountain that has learned patience.
“Low, measured, and intimate, with long pauses that make listeners feel as if he is weighing not only their words but the future consequences of having heard them.”

Distinguishing Features
Twelve pale scars circle his left wrist, each shaped like a tiny closed eye.
His shadow occasionally points toward the nearest dying creature.
He has no visible pulse, but rainwater gathers in the hollow above his collarbone and rises with every breath.
One of his teeth is made of cloudy glass and reflects scenes from places where someone has recently died.
His footprints appear briefly as dark wet marks even on stone or dry sand.
Voice
“A quiet baritone with a faint second resonance beneath it, like someone speaking from the far side of a closed door”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal robe layered over close-fitting gray wrappings, all damp at the hems despite the weather. A weathered blue sash holds twelve flat stones, each painted with a different line from the broken covenant. He wears soft iron sandals and a short mantle of translucent material that resembles wet paper but never tears.
Body Language
Galen keeps his hands folded loosely at his waist, as though preventing them from reaching toward every source of pain nearby. He tilts his head when listening, never interrupts, and looks directly at wounds rather than faces. When angered, he becomes almost perfectly still. His rare smile is small, crooked, and usually appears at inappropriate moments, such as when someone admits they are frightened.
