Oskar Järnhoof
Guild Factor
Oskar Järnhoof
Species
Halfling
Appearance
Oskar is a young halfling with an immaculate silhouette and the restless energy of a kettle just before it whistles. His round face is carefully groomed, his cheeks faintly freckled with iron dust, and his auburn hair is combed into a precise side part that collapses whenever he starts arguing. His hands are small, deft, and permanently marked by thin black crescents beneath the fingernails, despite his insistence that he is a desk-born factor. He moves in brisk, economical bursts, stopping so suddenly that his brass belt chains continue to sway after he has gone still. His polished boots click sharply on stone, giving him the curious impression of a much taller person trapped inside a halfling's body. The unexpected contradiction is his smile, which is dazzlingly warm and perfectly practiced, while his eyes remain watchful and tired, as if every compliment is being entered into a ledger.
“His voice is quick, articulate, and carefully modulated, with the crisp rhythm of someone accustomed to dictating figures. He rarely swears, but when genuinely furious he uses old cooper slang that his father taught him.”

Distinguishing Features
A narrow scar crosses the bridge of his nose from a flying iron hoop.
His left cuff link is made from the first coin he earned independently.
There is a dark crescent of permanent pitch beneath his right thumbnail.
He wears a red thread around one wrist, tied there by Mara Vale after the Ashcut Pass disaster.
His smile is practiced enough to seem almost theatrical, but his eyes betray every insult.
Voice
“Bright, refined, and slightly too controlled, with a faint rasp from years spent around sawdust, forge smoke, and sealing wax.”
Clothing
A charcoal waistcoat tailored in the latest city fashion, a high-collared cream shirt, burgundy sash, polished brown boots, brass cuff links stamped with The Iron Coopers' mark, and a weatherproof traveling coat lined with hidden document pockets. His clothes are expensive but subtly repaired at the seams.
Body Language
Oskar stands with his shoulders square and chin slightly raised, often balancing a ledger against one forearm like a shield. He taps two fingers against his thumb while calculating, smooths his waistcoat when lying, and turns his entire body toward whoever currently holds the most power in the room. When genuinely angry, he becomes unnervingly still.
