Veyra Sorn
Rogue, Scoutmaster and Underworld Spymaster
Veyra Sorn
Species
Human
Appearance
Veyra is a lean, weather-cut human woman whose movements are economical enough to seem rehearsed by the mountains themselves. Her face is narrow and windburned, with a broken bridge to her nose and a small white scar running from the corner of her mouth to her jaw. Her hands are broad-knuckled and permanently roughened by rope, lye, and cold iron, yet she handles delicate lockpicks with jeweler's precision. She walks with a slight inward turn of her left foot, the legacy of an old avalanche injury, but can cross loose scree without dislodging a pebble. Her most unsettling feature is her smile, warm, maternal, and entirely sincere moments before she gives an order that may condemn someone. She leaves behind the scent of juniper smoke, wet wool, and crushed wintergreen.
“Her voice is low, dry, and intimate, with the rasp of a kettle beginning to boil. She speaks slowly when persuading, quickly when issuing escape instructions, and almost tenderly when delivering a threat.”

Left foot turns inward from an old avalanche injury

Voice
“Low, dry, intimate, and roughened by cold air; every sentence sounds like either a confidence or an evacuation order.”
Clothing
A layered gray-brown fur coat over quilted traveling leathers, reinforced trousers, soft-soled mountain boots, fingerless gloves, and a weatherproof satchel sewn with hidden compartments. During clandestine meetings she wears a polished bone-white half-mask fastened by red cord. The inside of the mask bears tiny route marks visible only to those who know where to look.
Body Language
Veyra keeps her shoulders relaxed and her hands visible, creating an impression of harmless practicality. Her weight remains balanced over both feet, ready to pivot. She touches two fingers to her wrist when lying, rubs her thumb across the edge of her mask when deciding whether someone must die, and turns her head slightly toward distant sounds before anyone else notices them.
