Jor Gvelesh
Rogue
Jor Gvelesh
Species
Half-Orc
Appearance
Jor is a broad, heavy-framed half-orc whose movements are unexpectedly economical. He favors his left leg, not from injury but from years of standing behind counters and bracing himself against nervous customers, so his walk has a slow pendulum rhythm that becomes startlingly quick when he commits to a strike. His skin has the muted green-brown tone of weathered olive wood, with tiny pale flecks across the knuckles from years of metal dust. His lower tusks are filed flat enough not to catch on a pipe stem. He smells faintly of lamp oil, old wool, and hot iron, and is genuinely unaware that the scent follows him. His face is stern and square, yet he has delicate, almost jeweler's hands, with long careful fingers that handle locks more tenderly than he handles people. The contradictory impression is of a man built like a battering ram who approaches every valuable object as though it might bruise.
“A low, gravelly baritone with long pauses. Most replies are grunts, clicks, or clipped phrases.”

Distinguishing Features
His lower tusks are filed flat and capped with tiny brass sleeves made by his mother.
His left leg leads every step, giving him a measured, pendulum-like gait that abruptly vanishes when he attacks.
His hands are unusually delicate for his size, with blackened half-moons of embedded metal dust around the nails.
He carries the faint smell of lamp oil, hot iron, and old wool.
A tiny maker's mark shaped like a three-pronged key is stamped into the inside of his lower lip, a family tradition rather than a brand.
Voice
“A dry, gravelly rumble that seems to come from his chest rather than his throat. His laughter is a single surprised bark, usually followed by an embarrassed cough.”
Clothing
A smoke-gray wool vest over a sleeveless linen shirt, patched brown trousers, soft black boots, and a leather apron worn when working the back room. The apron is lined with hidden pockets and smells of oil and brass filings. A faded red thread is sewn around one cuff as a private family marker.
Body Language
Jor stands almost unnervingly still when listening, with his chin lowered and his hands folded over his stomach. His left thumb rubs the edge of his right thumbnail whenever he suspects a lie. In a fight he drops his shoulders, turns slightly sideways, and moves with the sudden compactness of a closing trap.
