Skarrak is a towering, gaunt orc whose slate-gray skin is buried beneath smeared white funerary ash and jagged ritual tattoos. The ash gathers in the hollows beneath his cheekbones and along the cords of his neck, making his face resemble a death mask that has begun to sweat. A heavy executioner's hood of stitched hide hangs over his head, revealing only bloodshot, hollow eyes and the lower half of his jaw. His teeth are filed into uneven square points, but one small tusk has been carefully polished and wrapped with a child's blue thread. He moves with a dragging, uneven gait because of the chains wound around his cleaver, yet he can suddenly cross a room with startling speed. The contradictory impression is unmistakable: he looks like a starving corpse, but his hands are meticulously clean and his nails are painted with tiny white dots in the style of mourning beads.
